FINANCE TEAM

The Finance Team is responsible for managing APAA’s financial and administrative functions, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all monetary transactions. This includes budgeting for events, maintaining financial records, processing APAA memberships, and handling banking information. The team also oversees the cost structure of each event, ensuring financial sustainability. Additionally, they manage logistical aspects such as room bookings and financial documentation, ensuring APAA’s operations align with university regulations and financial best practices.

OPERATIONS TEAM

The Operations Team plays a crucial role in the day-to-day functioning of APAA. They are responsible for producing the monthly newsletter, keeping members informed about job opportunities by maintaining an up-to-date job board, and coordinating tabling events to enhance student engagement. Additionally, the team provides support to other departments when needed, whether it’s assisting Marketing with promotional efforts, helping Projects with event execution, or working alongside Public Relations and Corporate Relations to strengthen partnerships. Their ability to adapt and provide cross-departmental support makes them an essential backbone of the association.

PROJECTS TEAM

The Projects Team is responsible for planning and executing APAA’s events throughout the year. From networking sessions and professional development workshops to large-scale conferences, they oversee the entire event lifecycle—from ideation to execution. Their role involves curating engaging activities, securing speakers, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that each event provides meaningful value to attendees. By maintaining a well-structured event calendar, they ensure that APAA members have continuous opportunities to develop their professional and networking skills.

MARKETING TEAM

The Marketing Team is dedicated to promoting APAA’s brand, events, and initiatives through strategic marketing efforts. They manage APAA’s social media presence, create promotional materials, design eye-catching posters, and ensure consistent branding across all platforms. Additionally, they work on website development and oversee digital content to ensure a strong online presence. By crafting compelling marketing campaigns, they drive engagement and encourage student participation in APAA events.

PUBLIC RELATIONS TEAM

The Public Relations Team focuses on building relationships within and beyond the APAA community. They lead the APAA Mentorship Program, connecting students with experienced professionals who can provide career guidance. They also oversee the APAA Case Pool Team, which represents York University in national and international case competitions. Furthermore, this team is responsible for engaging with alumni, industry professionals, and judges, ensuring APAA fosters strong connections with external stakeholders. Their work directly enhances APAA’s reputation and influence within the professional accounting industry.

CORPORATE RELATIONS TEAM

The Corporate Relations Team is responsible for securing sponsorships and fostering partnerships with companies, accounting firms, and other corporate entities. They actively seek financial and in-kind sponsorships to support APAA’s initiatives, ensuring that the organization has the necessary resources to provide high-quality events and opportunities for students. Additionally, they serve as a liaison between APAA and corporate partners, maintaining professional relationships that create long-term opportunities for students, including networking events, internships, and recruitment collaborations.
